Goodluck Ebele Jonathan became the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2011. He is a graduate of Zoology from the University of Port Harcourt. He graduated with a second class honors and also obtained his Masters and PhD in Zoology from the same institution. Good luck Jonathan was given birth to in the present day bayelsa state situated in the south south part of Ngeria. He is from the Ijaw ethnic group, a minority group in Nigeria. He is married to Dame Patience Jonathan with two children. Goodluck Jonathan had worked as a lecturer and also served as a senior education inspector before he entered into politics. He became active in politics in 1998. He was elected as a deputy
governor of Bayelsa state on May 29th 1999 along side with Diepreye Alamieyeseigha under the People’s Democratic Party. Goodluck served the people of bayelsa state as their deputy Governor from 1999 till Dec 2005. Goodluck Jonathan Ebele Azikiwe had also served as the vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria before becoming the president of the federal republic of Nigeria under the people’s democratic party. He is a devoted Christian and has an asset worth about ($8,569,662).
