Fundamental Human Right in Nigerian Constitution.

 The fundamental human right as cited in the Nigerian constitution under chapter 4 of the 1999 constitution clearly enumerates the various basic rights every Nigerian citizen ought to enjoy. These rights provide basic insights to what anyone living within the territory of the Federal Republic of Nigeria should know about his freedom to associate, religion, personal liberty, etc. Below are the some of the fundamental rights you should be abreast with to ensure you stand up for your right whenever you need to.
 1. THE RIGHT OF LIFE
Every Nigerian citizen has the right to life no matter how small, big or old he or she is. Therefore no one should be intentionally deprived of his or her life. Exception to this can only be determined by the law court if that person is sufficiently found guilty of his or her actions with the Nigeria territory.
2. THE RIGHT TO DIGNITY OF HUMAN PERSON
Every Nigerian citizen

is entitled to absolute respect for his or her dignity as a person:
(a)No individual (Nigerian Citizen) shall be put to torture or subjected to inhuman treatment.
(b)No individual shall be deprived of freedom by being held in servitude or slavery.
(c)No individual shall be compelled to perform forced labor.
3. THE RIGHT TO PERSONAL LIBERTY
Every legal citizen of Nigeria shall be entitled absolutely to his or her personal liberty and no individual shall be disposed of such liberty except it is permitted by the law in the court.
Any person or individual that is detained or arrested have the sole right to remain silent and mute until he or she have access to his personal legal lawyer.
Any individual that is detained or in the process of being arrested shall be adequately informed prior to been arrested within 24 hour through writing in the language he or she understands on why he or she is been arrested.
Any individual arrested in accordance with law cited in subsection (1) (c) shall promptly be made to appear before a competent court of law within the shortest possible time. If the accused is not tried at most within
(a) 2 months from the time when he or she was arrested or detained in the situation of an individual who is not bail able or in a custody,
(b) 3 months from the time of detention or arrest in the situation of an individual who was arrested and released on bail. He or she should be released unconditionally.
 4. THE RIGHT OF FAIR HEARING
 Any Nigerian citizen shall be privilege and entitled to fair hearing by a competent court established legally by the law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This hearing shall be conducted in such a way that it is impartial and independent and not intimidatory in any form.
5. THE RIGHT TO PRIVATE FAMILY
Every Nigerian citizen shall have privacy to their place of residence, conversation either telephone or any communication means and their families. This shall be guaranteed and securely protected.
Every citizen is entitle to freedom of religion of choice, thoughts and conscience, including the freedom to change his or her religion or believe at anytime in relation to whatever believe he or she chooses to belief, worship, observe and practice.
6. THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION AND THE PRESS
Every Nigerian citizen shall absolutely be entitled to freedom of expression, and these shall include the freedom to hold any opinion and to receive and promote any idea without any undue interference.
As contained in subsection (1) every individual is entitle to operate, establish and own any platform for propagating of information, views and ideas.
Any person who meets the fulfillment of condition given by the act of the Nigerian national assembly can own, operates and establish a broadcasting outfit like the television and radio stations.
7. THE RIGHT OF PEACEFUL ASSOCIATION
Every Nigerian citizen shall be duly and legally entitle to peaceful assembly and association with any person; most especially he or she may establish or belong to political party of his or her choice including trade union and other recognized association.
8. THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM AND MOVEMENT
Every Nigeria citizen is entitled to freely move within Nigeria and to live and reside in any location of his or her choice. No Nigerian citizen shall be sent out of Nigeria or denied entry in the country.
9. THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM FROM DISCRIMINATION
 All Nigerian citizens of any community, place, religion, ethnic group, sex, political opinion etc  shall not by any reason be discriminated upon.
10. THE RIGHT TO ACQUIRE AND OWN MOVABLE AND IMMOVABLE PROPERTY ANYWHERE WITHIN NIGERIA
Every Nigerian citizen is empowered by the law to acquire properties that are moveable or immovable in any part of Nigeria without any form of molestation.
11. COMPULSORY ACQUISATION OF PROPERTY
No one without your consent shall forcefully or compulsorily in Nigeria have the right to your properties except otherwise prescribe by the law.
 12. THE SPECIAL JURISDICTION OF HIGH COURT
Any person that feels that any of the above provision has been contravened have the right no matter where he or she resides in Nigeria can seek for redress from a law court.
