Before Nigeria fully returned to democracy there were few registered political parties in existence. However, before the 1999 Nigerian general election there sprung up several political parties that were registered to participate in the general election. These newly formed political parties had to pass through the hurdle of passing through the registration process with the Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission. The main objectives of these political parties was to be a part of the rebuilding process of the new democratic regime in Nigeria after a almost a decade of military rule. These newly formed political parties were duely registered based on the guideline put in place by INEC. In this post, you are given the list of these parties, there acronyms and their chairmen.
