Nigerian Students in the 1970s Enjoying Government's Food Program

Good old days! The above picture captured a group of the Ahmadu Bello University Students in 1970 enjoying an assorted buffet in the school cafeteria. This was what the Nigerian students were enjoying before the intrusion of the military government in 1980 forcing the cancellation of the free feeding program for students. What a great good old days. Wish I could turn back the hands of time. Today in most Nigerian universities you see thousands of young people struggling to eat three times daily. Did you practice one-zero-one? Laugh! If we don’t cook indomie for lunch, it either
bread plus bean ball aka Nigerian Burger. Our government certainly needs to change a lot of things to benefit the poor masses.
