Here is the wedding picture of Chief Obafemi Awolowo of blessed memory and his beloved wife Madam Hanna Awolowo. Obafemi Awolowo was one of Nigeria’s founding father who partook in the struggle for the independence of Nigeria in the late 1950s. Born in the 1909, he was a native of ikenne in Ogun State, Nigeria. Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s father was a local farmer who passed away when femi was just 7 years old. Femi in his earlier career was a teacher in his home town Abeokuta. He was good at shorthand. After attending Wesley College, he proceeded for further studies in England. Awolowo is the founder of one of Nigeria’s biggest national newspaper the Nigerian Tribune.
He initiated the establishment of the present day Obafemi Awolowo University. He is duly immortalized by the Nigerian Government placing his picture in the Nigeria’s hundred naira note.
