Mungo Park The Discoverer of River Niger

 Mungo Park was a Scottish explorer known to be one of the first sailor to explore west Africa deeply. He was the 7th child of Mr and Mrs Park a Scottish farmer. Mungo Park is credited for discovering the River Niger. There are severally contradiction about the time and life of Mungo Park in new Bussa currently in Niger state. Some school of thought said Mungo Park was attacked and killed by angry locals as a result of his role in mingling with their affairs while othe people believe that Mungo
Park returned back to Scotland in 1794 to continue as a lecturer at the Linnaean institute. The picture below is the Bussa Rapid captured in 1910 an area located around Niger state.
